The photo I took at the MET Museum in New York is the best photo that I took for this assignment. Erin Babnik's photo shows multiple aspects of the landscape she is capturing - she's able to depict textures close-up and textures far away. While I wasn't able to focus the camera on the buildings in the background, I was still able to capture the close-up greenery around the rooftop bar area. The most challenging aspect of this assignment was getting both close-up and far-away details into focus. Next time, I'll bring my digital camera to see if I cam able to capture both close-up and far-away details.

I like your thought process in emulating this photo, and you executed it very well. This is a very accurate example of pictorialist and aesthetically evaluative photography. I appreciate the focus on the grass with the city far in the background rather than the other way around. The bright green pop of color in front immediately attracts my attention and brings me a sense of happiness and positivity. At the same time, the picture in its entirety also creates a calm and relaxed mood with the beautiful landscape.

I think this is a great shot and is a believable emulation of the professional photographer’s shot. The greenery paired with the city skyline creates a great contrast and really draws the attention of the viewer.. The exposure and colors pop. As a suggestion maybe try a slight angle shift or add a person for scale.
Hi Ashley! I am drawn to your image because its striking contrast between the sharp, vibrant greenery in the foreground and the soft, hazy New York City skyline in the background. You shot this photograph in a thoughtful way that draws the viewer’s attention to the texture and color of the plants, while the blurred cityscape subtly fades into the distance. The image evokes a feeling of calm and balance, emphasizing the peaceful presence of nature. Good Job!!
The angle of the photograph is very unique, by how the depth of focus is on the ground and the city in the background is blurred. It also gives the audience a view from an angle that they may not always consider or be able to view themselves. The photo does incorporate analogous colors and is aesthetically evaluative. You did a great job emulating the photographer and their angle. It would be interesting to see this photo taken in a different light, such as at night or as the sun is setting and the city lights are turning on.
